The Truth About Sculptra
If you’ve been researching non-surgical volume restoration, you’ve likely come across Sculptra. It is often marketed as the "natural" alternative to traditional fillers. But does it have a place alongside the intensive medical-grade therapies we provide at Jessicat’s Medi-Spa?
What is Sculptra?
Unlike Hyaluronic Acid fillers (the "jelly" fillers) that simply take up space, Sculptra is made of Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA). It is classified as a biostimulator. When injected, it triggers a localized inflammatory response that encourages your body to produce new collagen over several months.

The "Capacity" Problem
The science behind Sculptra is sound—clinical studies show it effectively increases dermal thickness. However, there is a limit to how much collagen a single skin cell can produce.
If you are a Jessicat client, you are already using:
-
Medical Grade Radio Frequency (RF)
-
RF-Microneedling
-
Ultrasound Therapy
These technologies work by "forcing" your cells into a state of peak repair. By the time you finish a Foundation Series, your cells are already working at 100% capacity.
Throwing Spaghetti at the Wall
Adding Sculptra to a face that is already being treated with Medical Grade RF is what Jessicat calls "throwing spaghetti at the wall." If your cells are already producing the maximum amount of collagen and elastin possible, the PLLA in Sculptra has nothing left to "stimulate." You are essentially paying for a second "trigger" when the first one (our technology) has already fired. In our professional opinion, this makes Sculptra a redundant and unnecessary expense for our members.

The Bottom Line
Sculptra is a great tool for someone doing nothing else. But for a BeautyCat committed to the Jessicat Method, your skin is already doing the hard work. Don't waste your money on a "shortcut" that your cells are already outperforming.
