Are Expensive Clinic LED Devices the Only Ones That Work?
After years of testing technologies in my own anti-ageing journey and in clinic, I know this is not true. Even affordable LED devices can support healthier, more youthful looking skin when they are used correctly and consistently.
I know this because part of my personal anti-ageing journey, which led up to me working in the beauty industry, involved discovering LED light therapy. I saw it on the menu at a high-end aesthetic treatment clinic while waiting for my Botox/Filler practitioner appointment, back when I used to have those kinds of treatments.
I have not had Botox or filler in over 13 years because I now rely solely on the treatments I provide to clients to keep myself looking my best. The first device I purchased was a Red/Near Infrared LED Light device that flashed and turned off every 3 minutes. My instincts told me to keep the device on each area of my face for 20 minutes. This was a pain because completing a full treatment on my face, neck, and chest took a long time every day, or every second day.
Being obsessive-compulsive meant that I stuck with doing the treatments for a full 3 months. After that time, I noticed that my skin, which had been overly stripped from having too many skin peels and intensive dermabrasion, looked plump and had a healthy glow.
This was particularly noticeable to me when I assessed whether I needed Botox, which I used to have every 3 months. I decided to skip the Botox and invest in a more powerful Red LED Light device, and eventually purchased a clinic-grade device at the same time as I purchased my first medical-grade Venus Concept Radio Frequency device.
My husband joked that I was more excited about the LED Light device than I was about the $50,000 RF device. This was kind of true due to my knowing the Red LED Light therapy worked, and the RF device being a bit of an unknown therapy to me. I had done the research and agonised about opening my clinic first by providing HIFU or RF, as well as LED Light therapy. I had only been able to have one full Venus Concept Diamond Polar RF treatment on my face due to the cost of those treatments over 10 years ago, and there being only two clinics in Perth that provided them, one in Ellenbrook and one in Mandurah.
Due to wanting to work in the beauty industry so I could use the technology as much as I needed, I had to save my pennies and could not complete a full course of eight weekly RF treatments on my full face, neck, and chest areas, instead spending the deposit for a house on purchasing my first RF device.
The rest is history. My gamble paid off and my entire treatment practice is built on Multipolar and Monopolar RF therapy to create thick, strong skin that functions more like it did in our late 20s and early 30s.
Red/Near Infrared LED Light therapy combines beautifully with these treatments, and whilst the trainers I spoke to initially could not guarantee this would be the case due to not having enough data on combining Red LED Light with RF therapy, it is now industry standard to do so.
I have layered many other clinic-grade therapies into my practice over time, such as HIFU therapy, and have always refused to load clients up with expensive and unnecessary topical skincare products, instead helping clients set up at home with Red LED Light therapy that can gain far more results than even the very best topical skincare products ever can.
I now provide all clients with free Red/Near Infrared LED Light soft-faced silicone masks, loaning these devices out to clients when they are working through their Foundation Packages and then gifting them one when they go onto their Next Step Memberships.

Recently we gifted one to Gail, one of our earliest clients and a wonderful supporter of our community.
Knowledge is power when it comes to your skin. When you understand how treatments really work, you can spend your time and money in the right places and achieve results that truly last.
